Reflection of my capstone project
REFLECTION-
At the starting of this project, I was stuck for a while because we were given a fairly wide topic and were told to find our own approach to study it. What challenged me at the beginning, made the project extremely interesting to me by the end! Of course, not being in the college studio environment was a struggle but other than that I struggled to cut the less important parts from the articles I read during this project. In the beginning I felt like putting entire articles in my presentations, but overtime understood that simply explaining the "gist" also works in some cases. Another struggle was, to make the outcome, i decided on making an animation with apps on my phone, it took a lot of "jugaad" and a lot of patience but it was worth the experience!
PHASE 1.
I realized that having a visual presentation makes the presentation more engaging for the viewers, some struggles were, network issues, trying to come up with useful feedback for my friends and vice versa.
PHASE 2.
During this phase, I dealt with trying to arrange prescribed formats of the videos and pictures into the Presentation. I dealt with a bit of confusion as to what to put and what can be avoided.
PHASE 3.
I had to keep talking to my friends for inspiration, we would generally brainstorm ideas together which made the process a bit easier. I struggled here with less patience. My stop motion came out a bit shaky because I kept running out of patience.
Achievements: I feel during this project I was more interactive that I generally am, which turned out to be a great source of motivation. In my opinion, I was fairly up to date with what was happening which was extremely important due to the current times.
Overall, I learnt how having less resources can become a very interesting opportunity!

visual diary day 14
My second eldest sister lives in New Jersey, they've strictly quarantined themselves like the rest of the world. Their building was out of filtered water for 2 days and my sister and jiju went crazy between working from home and boiling water. These two illustrations are inspired by their misery. It's all good now though!
visual diary day 12
these dried flowers are of the plant
after some days we will shake the seeds of these dried leaves and use those seeds to plant more plants.
Video about stillness - I was sitting outside, sketching and then suddenly a leaf slowly falls on the paper I was working on. (This slow motion video is inspired by this.)

I made this for the food project but this story means more than khichdi to me, when I was a kid I wasnt much of a reader, by the time I was 15 i wanted to indian ize my nephew who lives in the states, so one day i went to this old bookshop in kamla nagar and got all available akbar birbal comics, tinkle and what not. In order to get him reading them, I also read the legendary comics. Better late than never!

Visual Diary day 2
trying new things!
TRYING NEW THINGS: I have never tried learning a musical instrument cause I am very self aware of the fact that I am extremely bad at singing. But, Quaratine makes you do things you didn't even imagine!
i was bored out of my head, my nephew's banjos were kept at home. I picked them up, searched for a youtube tutorial and started learning. I had the time of my life.

Visual diary: Day 1
there has been a building under construction right opposite to my house since a couple of months, the people working there have been stuck at the same building due to the lockdown. Every other night they have a mini DJ night where they blast bhojpuri songs and just jam! It is amazing to see how home is literally anywhere one wants it to be and how a building becomes a home way before people buy it and start living in it!

This is the link to the google drive.
I made a mind map to organize and think about the various aspects I can look into during the week 1 of this project.
First I made a list of all possible things, then in the second mind map i categorized information under major heads, and then in the third page I made a final mind map which consolidates all information from the previous two.

imperfectly perfect 3D model and reflection
![]() |
| inhale-exhale |
Inhale-ExhaleI made this model by sewing dried leaves together and fitting a used lemon in the center.
The reason i titled my image "inhale-exhale was because the tunnel like perspective of the mesh made me feel like if I were to be inside it, i would only survive it by taking deep breathes.
I used dried fallen leaves because
a.) availability
b.) the wavy texture on the leaves creates an essence of a journey, going towards the lemon
The used lemon represents the presence of wind and how taking deep breaths becomes a task when it is very windy just like how if we were inside the mesh tunnel, having a cool mind and taking deep breaths would be quite a task.
i made this face using the model to represent how our brain requires us to cool down and breathe in times of trouble. Saturday, April 11, 2020
